About Me
Beauty is important. It stirs us and urges us to connect with our highest selves. It soothes us when we are anxious and inspires us when we are dull. It nourishes us to do our work in this scary, wonderful world.
It took me a while to realize this. For years I resisted my calling to be an artist because I thought art couldn’t be important enough, given all the problems we are facing.
Now I have realized that making art is my way of making meaning. I honor the beauty that’s all around us, in our landscapes, our children, our simple, useful objects. And I teach children and adults how to make art and strengthen their connections to both themselves and our world by doing so.
